Date Night - Fireproof Movie

I went to see Fireproof last night with my honey and we both really liked it.

This movie is the third production for Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Georgia. With a low-budget (compared to Hollywood), one camera and a mostly volunteer cast, they have turned out a top-notch, must-see movie.

We laughed...we cried...and we were challenged to cherish each other and our marriage more. If you haven't had a chance to see it...go...and encourage others to see it too.

I actually went to this movie on Saturday with an old friend. She had tickets that her Church had given out.

I did not find it incrediable, I did think it was well done. I did not believe it ws as good as Facing the Giants.

It left me feeling it had a "churchy touch" but I think that most of us would like to believe that is how Christians look at their marriages. Most Christians I know don't have the calmness the parents of this young man had.

Last night I listened to a man who had just lost his wife a week ago. He talked about the Valley's they had walked through. Somehow if they had weaved some of those valleys the older couple had faced maybe it would not have left that "churchy" feel to me.

The second thing I belived should have been played out, was the doctor's playing on the young wife. I thought she should have found out that he was actually married. But there again, time and it's a movie.

All in all I do hope this movie will refresh and renew those marriages young and old to take a new look at their spouse and allow the Lord to be the center. Life is too short and Life is not a movie!.
