My niece Nan's son Josh flew out this morning to follow his heart on the adventure of a lifetime. This journey will take him to India, where he will be doing volunteer work in a hospice until December.
This is one seriously courageous young man.
Please pray for him and the group he is traveling with. Also his family, who are so proud of him and his commitment, but whose hearts are heavy at his departure. We will surely feel a void until he returns safely to us.
On his blog, there is a video of Mother Teresa speaking about the poor and suffering of Calcutta, India. She also says, "Stay where you are -- find your own Calcutta. Find the sick, the suffering, the lonely, right there where you are -- in your own homes and in your own families, in your workplaces and schools."
We don't all have to climb on an airplane to find our mission field. We might just have to drive across town...or walk next door. Imagine our world if we all ministered to our own Calcutta...one hurting soul at a time.
"If we are the body
Why aren't His arms reaching?
Why aren't His hands healing?
Why aren't His words teaching?
And if we are the body
Why aren't His feet going?
Why is His love not showing them there is a way.
Jesus is the way."
