What Can We Do?

My friend Elysa just returned from a short-term mission trip to Swaziland, Africa. She served there when she was in her early 20s and still has a heart for the people there. Swaziland is full of orphan children, some being raised by widows who take them in, some are raising themselves...and many children are dying from lack of food and medical care.

A whole team of folks went on this trip. I will list some of their blogs in case you want to check them out. They have not been able to write much since the returned because their hearts are so full. I believe that they have been forever changed. I pray that as they are able to share with us, that we will be changed as well.

Subjects like this often bring feelings of being overwhelmed to me...after all, it's a big world and there is much suffering. We often think "what can I do?" and then do nothing. There is something we can do. We can make a difference. I fully believe that.

Don't be intimidated by the great need. Don't be afraid to read the blogs and look at the smiling faces of the Swaziland children. Let's ask God what he would have us to do...and then for goodness sake...let's do something. If we don't, who will?
